What is the Kentucky Arts Extension Program (KAEP)?
The Kentucky Arts Extension Program is responsible for developing and promoting support for arts education and development in Kentucky counties, collaborating with the Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service. Kentucky Arts Extension works in partnership with the University of Kentucky College of Fine Arts and other local, state, and national arts organizations.
Mission Statement
Arts Extension improves the quality of life for communities and individuals in Kentucky through a multidisciplinary arts approach in education, research, and outreach.
Goal
To provide community and economic development, quality arts engagement, and essential skill enhancement while creating a resilient arts ecosystem through the Cooperative Extension infrastructure and framework.
Strategies
Professionals in Arts Extension engage Kentucky residents through a multi-level approach, including at the county, regional, and state level. The Kentucky Arts Extension team, comprised of Arts Extension agents, support staff, associates, specialists, and faculty provide arts leadership and curriculum development to communities and residents in the commonwealth to impact 3 core areas, referred to as the Arts Extension Strategic Initiatives.
